Apologies to US Supporters of MEK: Never Support Democracy

Monday, 19 March 2012, 2:45 pm Article: Steffen Hues Apologies to US Supporters of MEK: Never Support Democracy and Freedom Side with Mullahs and Tyrants for Immunity in US Elections by Steffen Hues March 15, 2012 What could be the reason for Nazi style defamation against certain line of US politicians who have spoken for basic American values: Democracy and Independence? They are either driven by expedient actions guided primarily by self-interested motives for election or misguided policy steered from Tehran. President Obama’s campaign mottos included “Organize for change and "Help me take back America". These embrace values embedded in the American Revolution for independence and democracy from British “Illegitimate tyranny” during the 17 century. If “change” and “American values” are still watchwords of the Administration, then it is unequivocal to presume any person “friend or foe” advocating and paying the price to promote them is a staunch. read more

MEK- Liberty :Council of Europe Condemns Camp Prison

The Council of Europe has issued a statement on the lack of lack of humanitarian and human rights standards in Camp Liberty and has urged the Iraqi government to implement the minimum guarantees demanded by the residents, including the removal of all armed units from the interior of the Camp. The text of the statement reads:
[15/03/2012]  PACE’s Political Affairs Committee has repeated its call to the Iraqi authorities to stop turning Camp Liberty – a site near Baghdad where around 800 members of an Iranian opposition group are now living – into a prison. In a statement adopted yesterday, the committee called for armed units and surveillance to be removed from the camp, as well as free movement for its residents and improved conditions, including access to medical services, lawyers and UN monitors. The complete text of the Council’s statement:
Following the statement made in January and owing to the fact that
unfortunately no improvement has been made, the Committee on Political Affairs
and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe calls on
the Iraqi authorities to stop turning Camp Liberty into a prison. It also calls on
the UN Secretary General to ensure the minimum guarantees required by the
camp residents.
In spite of the lack of humanitarian and human rights standards, to date, 800
Ashraf residents have been moved to Camp Liberty in order to find a peaceful
solution. But this camp is suffering from a serious shortage of drinking water and
electricity. Open sewage has made the area terribly polluted and the danger to
human health and many of the trailers are extremely badly damaged, making
them unusable. Liberty residents are not allowed to leave the camp. They have
no direct access to medical services nor to lawyers. There is a police station and
nearly 150 armed Iraqi forces equipped with machine guns in this very limited
area of half a square kilometre in which 3400 people have to live. Several
surveillance cameras and eavesdropping devices have been installed in the
camp, the output of which has been passed to the Iranian authorities to threaten
the residents and their families.
The Committee urges the Iraqi government to implement the minimum
guarantees demanded by the residents, including the removal of all armed units,
surveillance cameras and eavesdropping devices from the camp; resolving the
infrastructure problem, particularly regarding water, electricity and sewage;
providing direct access to medical services, lawyers and UN monitors; allowing
free movement or at least increasing the camp area; and providing the security
of all residents until they leave Iraq preventing the arrest of even one resident.
We call on Council of Europe member and observer states to respond positively
and rapidly to resettlement demands of Liberty and Ashraf residents.
  • Increasing police stations in Liberty and bringing them closer to residential areas
In the afternoon of Monday March 12 and the morning of Tuesday March 13, Iraqi armed forces opened up a 5-meter wide section of Camp Liberty wall and stationed police forces there. These points are at 10-meter distance from living and rest area of the residents. Therefore the number of police posts have been increased to seven. This is a clear threat to the residents and paves the way for attacking the residents.
Earlier on February 27th, residents of Ashraf and Liberty in separate letters signed by all of the residents to UN Secretary General, his Special Representative and the US Secretary of State had stated their minimum assurances for the transfer of the remaining residents from Ashraf to Liberty, the most important of which was the withdrawal of police and Iraqi armed forces from Liberty

Former U.S. Officials vs. Mullahs Apologists Over Mujahedin e Khalq

By Mahin Saremi

Tehran lobbies, and apologists have recently been hard at work to use fictitious " hypothesise", ruled out by factualists in the "real" events of Iranian uprising and its follow ups.
A round table of disillusioned pundits who try to imitate Gobble, master propagandist of the Nazi regime, forget that we live in the era of Democratic Gales, which judge mostly on "Deeds" and not "disenchanted absurd words and accusations."
I never encountered "Bassiji" pundits in suits and cravats before escaping Iran. Reading accusations and absurdities in a wave of slanders targeting Iran's main capable opposition (MEK) that has practically withstood ten-time more such follies by the mullahs, was history for me.

Dear Hillary,I am afraid I am going to be murdered

Dear Hillary,
My name is Shaghayegh.
I am 14 and live in Camp Ashraf, Iraq.
I am afraid I am going to be murdered

My father was tortured to
death by Iranian government
in 2008 since he was a
supporter of Mujahedine-
Khalq (MEK) opposition
movement. So was my sister,
Faezeh, 20 who was killed
along with 35 others by Iraqi
forces in Camp Ashraf on
April 8.
US Congressmen were
prevented from visiting us
here in Ashraf after the
attack.
Now I await my fate in Camp
Ashraf with my mother, two
brothers and 3,400 other men
and women. The U.S. had promised
us PROTECTION! Instead, the
State Department has listed us as
terrorists, the excuse for Iraqi
government to murder us.
Save us by removing the MEK from
the State Department terrorist list.

Inside Iran the mullahs resort to the most gruesome barbarities. As the result, 120,000 people have been executed; more than a million people have been arrested, humiliated and tortured since Ayatollah Khomeini took the power away from the people in Iran in 1979.

Ashraf Enterance
The fanatics in Tehran see intelligentsia as their biggest enemy. The main bastion of resistance for those who have escaped persecution is Camp Ashraf, or Ashraf City as its residents know it. It is situated 60 miles east of the Iranian border north of the Iraqi town of Al-Khalis.
Ashraf was created in 1986. That which is known today as Ashraf City was once a piece of arid land in a dry, desolate desert. Only a handful of deserted buildings were standing and there were no facilities, paved roads, lamp posts, and running water.
After a visit to Ashraf a reporter from Knight Ridder news agency wrote:

“Iraq has an oasis where fountains gurgle over pebbles and flowers blossom in lush gardens.

The hospital is spotless and fully stocked, schools offer violin lessons and drivers obey traffic laws. The electricity is always on, and the water is always clean in this serene, self-sufficient compound.

One of the remarkable attributes of Ashraf is the existence of thousands of people who knowingly chose to come to Ashraf with only one goal and desire which is to put their lives for their people’s freedom from the clutches of the mullahs’ religious dictatorship.

For any foreign observer that visits Ashraf, the most striking characteristic is the democratic nature of relationships that exist there since in this city precious human values are respected the most. The democratic nature of relationships within the PMOI has given Ashraf residents the ability to maintain their unity despite the harsh conditions of the past 20 years, which includes coming under aerial bombardment and missile attacks by the mullahs’ regime, and differences of opinion and thought among the residents of Ashraf."

Foreign observers are also astounded at the high morale in Ashraf. Such a level of liveliness under such difficult conditions comes from the depth of their conscious decision to remain in Ashraf and their profound belief in freedom.
Over the years, Ashraf grew both in size and in improvements. It became the Iranian main resistance’s (PMOI) largest enclave in Iraq.
The Ayatollahs in Iran realise that Ashraf have inspired millions inside the country to protest and defy the expansion of Islamic fanaticism across the nation.
A Fatwa (a religious decree) been issued for the execution of Ashraf residents by the supreme leader, similar to the Fatwa which lead to massacre of 30,000 likeminded people in just two weeks in prisons in 1988.

Attack on Ashraf 27 July 2009
Since the handover of security of Ashraf to Iraqi authorities January 1, 2009 Asgraf residents have been continuously threatened by proxies of the Iranian mullahs in Iraqi government. In July 2009 Ashraf was attacked by Iraqi forces who were supposed to provide protection. The brutal attack led to 11 deaths, more than 500 injured and 36 abducted refugees. It took a 72 day international campaign with hundreds of people on hunger strike all over the world, to gain the release of hostages in the hands of Iraqi forces.

Now the Iraqi government on direct orders of Iranian regime has called for transfer of Ashraf residents to a remote place in deserts of southern Iraq. Their displacement, contrary to international law and Iraq's legal and moral obligations, will result into a humanitarian catastrophe and leaves all Ashraf residents vulnerable to attacks by Iranian regime and the Qods (Jerusalem) Force of Iranian Revolutionary Guards who are behind hidden occupation of Iraq.

This situation needs immediate attention. These people need urgent support, especially as their legal status as UN refugees and protected persons has not yet been acknowledged by Iraqi authorities. UK Committee in support of Ashraf (UKCSA) is sponsoring this very urgent case to help prevent a catastrophe.
UKCSA is a non-profit committee set up to defend the rights of the people in Ashraf through public awareness campaigns and other means to raise the profile of the camp in the free world. Ashraf residents’ lives are threatened because of their defiance to the mullahs’ regime. They will face barbaric punishments, torture and execution if returned to Iran.
UKCSA also campaigns to put a stop to executions and the inhuman treatment of political prisoners inside Iran.
Considering the recent conspiracies of the Iranian government against Ashraf, UK Committee in Support of Ashraf has an urgent appeal to support the legal campaign for protection of Ashraf and preventing forceful transfer of its residents.
